Keeping well in winter at the AquaCentre
MEDIA RELEASE - Keeping well in winter at the Manjimup Regional AquaCentre
June 2015
Despite the weather cooling down in the Southern Forests region, limiting outdoor activities to the finer days, the list of things to do at the Manjimup Regional AquaCentre is on the rise.
Following the successful launch of the new Dual Track Pool Inflatable, the AquaCentre is making this a regular activity, every Sunday between 11am and 3pm. The inflatable will also be up during the July school holidays, on Wednesday and Friday of each week, between 11am and 3pm. The minimum age for play on the inflatable is 8 years old, however kids can still enjoy some play time in the leisure pool if they're not quite old enough.
In addition to the indoor pool facilities, group fitness classes are also a plus at this time of the year, with both land and water based classes available. "The fitness class timetable is extensive and there is something to suit people of all levels of fitness as well as seniors, pregnant mums and people with injuries or health issues," said Shire President Wade DeCampo.
Fitness classes are part of the package with the fitness and platinum AquaCentre memberships. Casual fitness entry is $13.70 or $9.30 for concession card holders.
The AquaCentre also has a crche facility, which can be utilised by parents from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 12pm for children aged between eight weeks and 11 years. "This gives parents the flexibility of having a couple of hours to do a class and perhaps have a swim or a coffee when they're done, with the peace of mind that your children are in a fun and safe environment," explained Cr DeCampo. Parents are asked to book their child into crche, with bookings available in one hour blocks at $2.60 per child, per hour. (Please note that due to potential allergies, the crche is a nut free zone, including peanut butter or other nut based products).
Please phone the Manjimup Regional AquaCentre on 9771 1278 for further information on any of the fitness programmes or the crche.
