MEDIA RELEASE - Community buses available for hire
June 2015
The Shire of Manjimup offers a bus to local community and recreation groups for hire, available to be booked through the Manjimup Community Resource Centre. In addition, the Shire's Home and Community Care (HACC) has a bus available for the same purpose, so long as it is not being used for the provision of a HACC service or initiative.
"These buses are an important facility within our community, not only because the Shire is so large, but because we have so many community and sporting groups or associations who often travel out of the Shire to take part in activities," explained Shire President Wade DeCampo. "Safe transportation is crucial."
The Shire bus seats 25 people including the driver, who to transport passengers legally, requires an 'F-extension' on their licence. Information on how to obtain an'F-Extension' can be found by clicking here.
Interested groups are encouraged to contact the Community Resource Centre for prices and conditions, or to make a booking, by phoning 9777 2774 or by emailing reception@manjimup.org.au.
The HACC bus seats 21 people including the driver. Whilst preference is given to HACC services, this bus is also available to community or recreation groups for hire, with the driver requiring a B-class licence. Information on hire fees and additional fees can be found on the Shire of Manjimup website, or my phoning HACC on 9777 1455.
Any group wishing to use one of the buses must complete an application form, agree to and sign the Conditions of Hire forms and provide copies of current drivers licence.Bus drivers are available, for an additional fee, to drive both buses.
