Southern Forests Welcome
The Shire of Manjimup has begun the installation of six new entry signs into the Southern Forests region. The signage is designed as an entry statement about the region and is co-branded with both the Shire and the Genuinely Southern Forests brands.
Shire President Wade DeCampo explained that new entry signage has been in the pipeline for well over a year. "Council has been looking to replace the current out-of-date signs with something that is both welcoming and noticeable."
Several design versions of the signage has been presented to Council, with the final version decided upon in mid-2015 to include the Genuinely Southern Forests branding. "It is about brand reinforcement. With the amazing work that is being done by the Southern Forests Food Council (SFFC), awareness of the Genuinely Southern Forests brand is on the rise. That is something we're really proud of and we want people to make the connection with the brand, the produce and our region," said Cr DeCampo.
Bevan Eatts, Chair of the Southern Forests Food Council said "the Southern Forests Food Council is pleased to have worked collaboratively with the Shire of Manjimup in the development of the new entry signage for the Southern Forests region. Visitors will now be able to connect the region with the Genuinely Southern Forests initiative."
"Locals and visitors will notice the new signage appearing at the entry points of the region over the next week or so," said Shire President Wade DeCampo. The signage will be located in place of the old signs, which will be removed.
Locations include the northern entry to Manjimup on South Western Highway, South Coast Highway at the entry to Walpole from Denmark, Vasse Highway in Pemberton and on Graphite road from Nannup. Two new locations of Mordallup Road from Frankland/Cranbrook and Muir Highway from Mt Barker, will also be signed with the new entry statement.
