Shire President Wade De Campo said, "Everybody knows either an individual or a group who is worthy of recognition for what they do in the community. The nomination process is very simple and shouldn't be shied away from as it is a really great way to say thank you to that group or individual for what their contribution."
Nomination forms for these annual awards are now available from various outlets within the Shire including the Shire Administration Centre in Manjimup, all Shire Libraries, the Manjimup, Northcliffe and Walpole Family Centres, and the Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe and Walpole Community Resource Centres. "This year we'd like to see an increase in nominations for the under 25 category," explained Councillor DeCampo, saying that being nominated for an award often encourages and inspires people to remain active in their community, or to make further contributions.
