MEDIA RELEASE - Results of 2015 Local Government Election

An election was held for the Central Ward of the Shire of Manjimup today, Saturday 17 October 2015. Following the closure of the polling place, a vote count took place for all votes received today and via early and postal voting.

The vote results are as follows:

• Sam Karamfiles - 226 votes
• Denise Jenkins - 326 votes
• Robert Taylor - 321 votes
• Lynn Daubney - 296 votes
• Ken Gunson - 152 votes

Congratulations to Denise Jenkins, Robert Taylor and Lynn Daubney who have been elected as Councillors for the Central Ward.

In addition to the above, Dean Bavich was elected unopposed to the North Ward and Verrell Herbert to the West Ward.

New Councillors will be sworn in at a ceremony which will take place at the commencement of the Council meeting to be held at 5:30pm on Thursday 22 October 2015. The election of the Shire President and Deputy Shire President will take place following the swearing in ceremony.
