Following several acts of vandalism in Pemberton over the long weekend, the community is being reminded that vandalism is a criminal offence and socially unacceptable.
Several signs were damaged in the townsite of Pemberton, including Shire of Manjimup street signage, main roads signage and private signage. Shire President Wade DeCampo expressed both annoyance and concern at the acts of violence. "Vandalism is such an inconsiderate and reckless act and what people might think is 'just a bit of fun', results in a huge inconvenience and costs us all money and time."
Black tyre markings were also left from North Pemberton Road into the townsite. "The person or persons responsible have blatant disregard for community safety and their own wellbeing," said Cr DeCampo. "We are all responsible for looking after our community assets and vandalism is unwelcome and unaccetable."
Anybody with information on who the vandals are should contact Crimestoppers by calling 1800 333 000 or by going to www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
