What a Banner!
The Shire of Manjimup this year partnered with the East Manjimup Primary School to complete an entry for the annual Local Government Week competition, "Banners in the Terrace".
The East Manjimup Primary School, Pre Primary and Year 1 students worked with local Artist Sarah Connor to produce the colourful banner entry with the theme ""Ready and Relevant". Silhouettes were drawn of the children reaching up to catch, ready to take over from us and lead the next generation.
Shire President, Paul Omodei said "Every year the Shire partners with a school in the Shire to complete a banner for this project and this was a great opportunity for young East Manjimup Primary School students to become more involved in the arts and a significant regional community project".
East Manjimup Primary School Principal, Michael Smith was also very pleased to be given the opportunity as a school to be involved in this year's project.
The "Banners in the Terrace" exhibition held throughout August is now a much anticipated opportunity for regional communities to display banners along St Georges and Adelaide Terraces in Perth to thousands of people travelling along these routes each day.
