The Shire of Manjimup's population is ageing, reflecting not just a state-wide but world-wide trend. This change in the Shire's demographic may mean changes in future service delivery to maximise opportunities for residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life as they age.
The Shire has pro-actively acknowledged that seniors represent a significant and growing sector of the community. Extensive consultation was undertaken to develop the Shire of Manjimup Age-Friendly Communities Plan 2016-2021, which provides recommendations to meet the diversifying needs of the ageing population.

Regional AquaCentre
The Regional AquaCentre offers heated pools and group fitness and aqua classes specifically designed for seniors. Check out the AquaCentre's facilities here.
Seniors Week
Seniors week is held in November each year. This event celebrates the role seniors play and the contributions they have made and continue to make to the community. Events, activities, programs and support offered to seniors during Seniors Week will be made available on the Shire website and in the Manjimup Community Home Care monthly program for November.
Expo
The Manjimup Community Home Care Wellness and Lifestyle Expo provides seniors, people with a disability and carers the opportunity to browse exhibition displays with information on the services, programs, activities and support available to them. Local groups, service providers and businesses will participate in this free community event. The Expo is held biennially.
