As a Shire and a community, we are proud of our heritage and it is our aim to showcase it for visitors and residents alike.
The Shire of Manjimup celebrated its Centenary in 2008; 100 years of people, settlements, industry and life. This celebration brought to the fore a widely held desire to capture the stories of our people. Thus, the Heritage Connections project was born.
Local community members shared their narratives with the Shire of Manjimup, following which Northcliffe artist Tony Windberg captured these memories with a series of iconic installations. Over time, this project will be supported by printed and digital interpretive material creating a virtual trail connecting our stories.
To date, there are five heritage icons in the series.
