At the ordinary Council meeting held in Manjimup on 3 May 2018 Cr Dean Bavich submitted his resignation from Council. Cr Bavich has been serving on Council since 2010 and was Deputy Shire President from 2013 to 2017.
Cr Bavich said he enjoyed working beside fellow councillors and staff and that the harmonious relationship between staff and councillors complimented the efficiency and proficiency of the Shire, he advised fellow Councillors not to underestimate their responsibility of representing ratepayers on Council.
After many years as a Property Valuer Cr Bavich is changing career and will be joining the Rural Financial Counselling Service WA providing rural financial counselling to a range of clients who are suffering, or at imminent risk of suffering financial hardship.
Shire President Paul Omodei said, Cr Bavich's resignation came as a surprise, Dean has been a valuable asset to Council representing the North Ward and was always a willing and available Deputy Shire President. We wish Dean well for his future endeavours and on behalf of the Shire and ratepayers I thank him for his service on Council".
