The Shire of Manjimup is asking suppliers, business owners and residents to keep vehicles (other than mobility scooters) off of the footpaths. There has recently been delivery trucks parked on footpaths outside of shops and vehicles parked with the front wheel on the paving in angled bays in the CBD.
"This is not only dangerous for path users but shows a blatant disregard for Council property and damages infrastructure" commented Paul Omodei, Shire President.
It is very disappointing considering the resources and funding put into beautifying our town centres in recent years" he added.
There is adequate rear laneway access to most business' for delivery vehicles. For the safety of our residents, children and visitors, and for the preservation of our infrastructure we ask you NOT to park on footpaths within the Shire.
