COVID-19 Closure of Shire Libraries
Following the closure of Shire libraries in Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe and Walpole at noon on Monday 23 March 2020, we have been investigating options for maintaining basic library services for borrowers.
Further to advice received from the South West Library Consortia and in an effort to limit the spread of the virus, we are encouraging the use of our eResources. Borrowers can digitally checkout eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eFilms and eMusic by visiting this link and following the instructions.
We have had to make some additional changes as follows:
- The after-hours chutes at all Shire libraries have been closed until further notice. Borrowers should hold onto items they currently have checked out until libraries re-open. Books and other resources should not be left outside library buildings as they will not be collected. This will ensure borrowers avoid fines for lost or damaged items.
- Loans on current library items will be extended until 30 June 2020. This date is not an indication of when libraries will re-open. If the closure extends beyond 30 June, due dates will be changed accordingly.
- Items that borrowers have on hold will be suspended until the libraries re-open. Borrowers will maintain their place in line for an item on hold. Unfortunately, the option to place new holds on items will not be available until libraries re-open.
If you have any questions please contact the Manjimup Library on 9771 6940 between 9:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Staff will endeavour to assist you with linking to online services, general queries and concerns.
The health of the community and Shire employees is paramount and we appreciate your patience understanding during this time. Please follow our Facebook page (@ShireofManjimupLibraries&ArtGallery) for ways you can remain interactive with our services, and regularly check our website for updates.
