Manjimup CBD paving update
News and Notices
With the exception of Brockman Street which will be completed as part of the Brockman Street transformation in 2018, only two sections of paving remain.
- Rose Street between Brockman and Ipsen Streets including the Rose Street intersection.
- Giblett Street between Brockman and Ipsen Streets.
Works on these two sections commence this week, in accordance with the following program:
- Installation of construction barriers and establishment of temporary pedestrian access and road crossing points, maximizing access to the available parking.
- Removal of 500mm of the existing paving from the rear of the existing kerb to facilitate the kerb removal, commencing on 1 November 2017. It is anticipated that this work will be completed by 3 November 2017.
- Removal of the existing kerbing and preparation works for the new kerb will then be undertaken, ensuring that the site is prepared for the new kerbing which is scheduled to commence on 8 November;
- Installation of the new kerbing is expected to take approximately 3 days to complete;
- Lifting and renewal of the remaining footpath paving will then commence.
It is anticipated that the removal and replacement of the kerbing and renewal of the footpath paving will take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete.
It should be noted that whilst every effort will be made to minimize the impact of these works, some disruptions will still occur in respect of access to parking bays and lane closures effecting traffic movements. Every effort will be made to minimize these disruptions and ensure continuous pedestrian access during the construction period.
