Rethink Holiday Plans to the Southwest
If you are considering visiting our region for Easter or the school holidays we respectfully request you do not come. All of our recreation facilities are closed and the Government's mandate is to only travel if it is essential, police roads blocks are in place.
"Our region is a popular place for Easter and school holidays, the weather here is ideal at this time of the year and the holiday period coincides with the local salmon run" explained Shire President Paul Omodei.
"Now is not the time to be travelling or holidaying, we all need to adhere to the advice issued by the State Government to stay home and help stop the spread of COVID-19."
"We have limited primary health facilities in our region, with smaller locations such as Northcliffe and Walpole only having a nursing post" he added.
We strongly urge you to stay at home, keep yourselves safe and at the same time keep others safe.
