The Shire of Manjimup understands the community's need for information and a sense of direction in times of crisis. People in our community have been quick to offer assistance or help to coordinate a town's response but with no centralised system of sharing those offers, it is challenging to get the information out to the right people. It is with this in mind that the Shire has created a Facebook Group named 'Shire of Manjimup COVID-19 Recovery Response'.
The purpose of the group is for the Shire and community to share information and offers of help to all people who are currently in the Shire (including backpackers, nomads, transients and residents). This group is not to be used for harmful or misleading posts and comments, including personal opinion on the pandemic. It is a safe space for people in the Shire to ask questions, seek information, share 'good-news stories', offer housing, jobs, food and a variety of services to help each other through this event.
Remember, if your question is specifically about the COVID virus and/or you are seeking government advice or assistance packages please visit one of the official government websites below.
Shire President Paul Omodei said "COVID-19 is not going away in a few weeks. The Shire and the community will be working through the response and recovery for many months to come. Together, with accurate, transparent and specific information, we will weather this storm together".
