The view from the top
The stairs, viewing platform and giant slide are now officially open at the Manjimup Timber and Heritage Park following a ceremony conducted by the Hon. Terry Redman MLA on Friday, 24 June 2016.
The occassion marked the closure of Stage One of the Manjimup Town Centre Revitalisation Project. Though work on stage two of the project started as soon as the Royalties for Regions funding of $22.29 million was announced, Minister Redman together with Shire President Wade DeCampo acknowledged the commencement of stage two and the benefits that the project will bring to the region.
An announcement has also been made that a Community Information Office (CIO) will be opening at 5 Brockman Street in Manjimup, directly across from the Southern Forests Food Council. The CIO will be a 'one stop shop' for people to drop into and be able to speak to an officer to find out more information on any of the elements of the overall project. There will be information on display and also available in a format that can be taken away to refer to at a later stage. It is anticipated that the CIO will open in August and remain open for the duration of the project, until approximately December 2019. At the conclusion of the project, the building will be valuable in facilitating the growth of Brockman Street into a food and beverage precinct.
