As part of forward planning for the next four years of major infrastructure works and road upgrades within the Shire we have a number of applications for Vegetation Clearing Permits lodged with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
The roads involved in these applications are:
- CPS 8581/1 Channybearup Road, Channybearup
- CPS 8578/1 Wheatley Coast Road, Quinninup
- CPS 8586/1 Pump Hill Road, Pemberton
- CPS 8580/1 Grays Road, Northcliffe
- 8579/1 Main Road, Northcliffe
- CPS 8502/1 Windy Harbour Road, Northcliffe
- CPS 8448/1 North Walpole Road, North Walpole
"Vegetation clearing is undertaken for the safety of motorists and critical for long standing road improvements" Shire President Paul Omodei explained, "offset planting for vegetation clearing is always undertaken in the Shire and is in the order of about 100 trees planted to every one removed".
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation consider it good practice to have an advanced plan in place hence the applications are covering four years of works from 2019 to 2023 inclusive.
