The Shire is extremely disappointed in the vandalism over the weekend of trees in the Manjimup CBD area.
Several recently planted street trees, planted as part of the plans to beautify the area were snapped at the base.
The vandalism occurred sometime over the weekend of 20 and 21 October 2018.
"It goes without saying that we're very disappointed," said Shire President Paul Omodei, "We have been making a conscious effort to beautify the streetscapes in all of our towns".
"The vandalism of public property is not only a criminal act, it is senseless, disrespectful and a waste of ratepayers money. The cost of replacing a single street tree including purchase and resources is around $300" added Cr Omodei.
Anybody who witnessed the vandalism or is aware of who is responsible is encouraged to report the details to the Shire of Manjimup on 9771 7777 or by contacting the Manjimup Police Station on 9771 1000.
The public is reminded that the Shire offers a reward of up to $1,000 to any person providing information which leads to the conviction of an/or offenders of any act of vandalism to Shire of Manjimup owned or managed property.
