The Shire is proud to announce the commissioning of two new solar systems, one for the Shire Administration Building and the other for the Shire’s Depot. The systems were designed to meet each location’s individual energy needs.
The Administration Building system is a 40kW peak system, while the Depot system is a 25kW peak system. Both systems were designed to meet 100% of normal daytime usage, and it is estimated that they will pay back the capital investment within 4 years of operation.
“We are excited to take this step towards a more sustainable future,” said Shire President Elect Donelle Buegge. “Solar energy is a clean and renewable resource, and it will help us to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and save money on our energy bills.”
“The solar project is testament that the Shire of Manjimup is unified and solid and able to maintain projects and business as usual through a change of leadership. This is a testament to the Shire’s commitment to professionalism and its focus on serving the community. I am confident that the Shire of Manjimup will continue to be a successful and prosperous community under the leadership of its new Council”. Cr Buegge added.
