From Roads to Recreation: How Council Makes Choices for Your Community
The Shire of Manjimup is committed to fostering transparency, inclusivity and participation in its decision-making processes. Over 30 plans and strategies developed over time, and informed by community engagement, are used to make informed decisions.
Do you wonder how we decide on projects? The Forward Capital Works Program influences road construction projects, the Local Bike and Footpath Plan guides footpath maintenance, and the Sport and Recreation Strategic Plan helps with sports and recreation proposals.
Over the coming months will be focusing on informing the public of the various plans and strategies via media releases focusing on each key document.
Shire President Donelle Buegge stated “the development of our future is guided by a comprehensive planning framework. This framework includes the Strategic Community Plan, which captures the long-term vision and aspirations of our community, and the Corporate Business Plan, which translates those aspirations into actionable priorities and projects. These two plans, along with many others, inform our decisions, ensuring a strategic and community-focused approach”.
We invite residents to explore the detailed information in these plans and strategies and to get involved in the consultation processes when future opportunities arise.
“The Shire is dedicated to creating a thriving and livable community for all residents. These plans and strategies reflect our commitment to addressing key issues and promoting sustainable growth, while always prioritising the well-being and prosperity of our community”.
