Top Dollars for Pemberton Tourism
The Shire of Manjimup is thrilled with the State Government’s recent Outdoor Adventure Tourism Package announcement with a significant investment in Pemberton's tourism future. A combined $12.5 million will be directed towards enhancing the visitor experience and solidifying the region’s position as a premier tourist destination.
“Pemberton is a jewel in the crown of the South West,” said Shire President, Donelle Buegge. “We are thrilled with the State Government’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of our tourism industry, which is a vital economic driver for our region.”
$8 Million Pemberton Trails Masterplan
A cornerstone of the investment is the $8 million Pemberton Trails Masterplan. This comprehensive plan will see the development and expansion of Pemberton's world-class trail network, catering to hikers, mountain bikers, and nature enthusiasts of all skill levels.
“The Pemberton Trails Masterplan will create a connected network of trails that will further entice visitors to explore the unique beauty of our karri forests and national parks,” Cr. Buegge explained.
$750,000 Big Brook Arboretum Campground Upgrade
The investment also includes $750,000 allocated to the upgrade of the Big Brook Arboretum Campground. These improvements will enhance visitor facilities, create a more welcoming environment and encourage longer stays in Pemberton.
$3 million for the Gloucester and Bicentennial Trees
Upgrades to the Gloucester and Bicentennial trees to make them safe for visitors again.
$1.5 Million for Campsites
Four new coastal campsites within the D'Entrecasteaux National Park.
