Deanmill Heritage Trail
The former Manjimup - Deanmill Tramway forms part of the Munda Biddi Trail. In 1912, the tramway linked the sawmill supplying timber sleepers for the construction of the Transcontinental Railway, to Manjimup. The Deanmill settlement was named after the mill's first manager, Mr Alfred Dean. Having closed as an operating tramway in 1966, the reserve has been allowed to regrow and forms a major green corridor on the western side of Manjimup. This trail is also used by walkers for the 11km return walk from Manjimup.
Munda Biddi Trail
The Munda Biddi Trail (which means path through the forest in the Noongar Aboriginal language) is fast becoming a world-class nature-based off-road cycling experience. The Trail runs for 1000km from Mundaring to Albany and was purpose built for off-road cyclists. The full 1000km was officially opened on 28 April 2013. The trail passes through each major town in the Shire, meaning you can travel light on this section of the track and enjoy the hospitality of the region.
