Building permit - commercial & industrial - class 2-9

The Shire is committed to assisting businesses with helpful information relating to building proposals. Commercial and industrial buildings have extra compliance issues to deal with and can be complicated. For example: changing a shop from a retail business to an accountancy firm results in a change of classification and also requires a building permit.

To assist with this process and to ensure compliance with the Building Act, including design for access and mobility, the Shire recommends that you organise a meeting with Shire officers, or a private Building Surveyor, to discuss the process. Please assist us by bringing all available plans and documents associated with the building.
