Building permit extension

A building permit is valid for up to 2 years from the date of issue. If you expect that you will not be able to complete your project within this time frame, you will need to apply for an extension prior to the expiry date of your permit.

An application to extend your permit requires the following:

• a form BA22;
• photos of the works completed; and
• a time frame of when the works will be completed.

The extension can only be for 12 months and if the works are not finished in this time frame then another application extension will need to be submitted.
