Noongar Seasons: Nature in Transition

Project Outline

Noongar Artists are invited to submit an artwork depicting one of the six Noongar seasons (Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba and Kambarang) specifically reflecting the seasonal changes in the Karri Karrak (formerly the South West Boojarah) area.

Six works will be selected for printing and exhibiting on fixed street banner frames in the main street of Manjimup. These six works will be purchased directly from the Artists.

All artworks submitted for this project (space permitting) will be displayed in an exhibition in 2023 at the Manjimup Art Gallery (the Gallery).

January - February 2023 Six winning artworks for banners selected and Artists advised
May - June 2023 Noongar Seasons - Nature in Transition exhibition opens at
Manjimup Art Gallery
July 2023 Exhibition closes
