Development Control Unit
The Development Control Unit (DCU) is a body of Shire staff that meet every week to discuss and consider strategic developments, proposals and issues within the Shire of Manjimup. DCU is chaired by the Coordinator Statutory Planning and it comprises Officers and Managers from the Works and Services (Technical, Parks Operations) and Development Services (Planning, Building, Health and Emergency Services) Departments of the organisation.
A Joint DCU meeting is held annually with the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions, Parks and Wildlife Branch to discuss and consider strategic developments and issues common to both organisations.
The DCU is also used as a forum for prospective developers and business owners to gain an understanding of, and query Shire requirements, prior to the commencement of any major development within the Shire of Manjimup.
If you wish to have your proposed development considered by Shire officers at a DCU meeting, please contact the Shire's Statutory Planning Services on (08) 9771 7777 to organise a time and date to attend a meeting.
